Kokolo means the heart and mind in Japanese, but it has a much deeper meaning in the culinary world. Our dishes are inspired by our name. We are delighted to serve each of our guests with a warm enthusiastic personal touch from the heart.
Donburi is a traditional Japanese rice meal in a bowl. Its origins can be traced back to the Edo period (1600s to 1800s). At Kokolo, our nutritious rice bowls are influenced by variations of donburis originated from different regions of Japan. Each of our rice bowl is precisely fried or simmered in our signature sauce, and carefully prepared with traditional homemade ingredients.
We would love to share the tradition of heartwarming donburis to our community.

Updated review.
Here for lunch at noon on a Thursday.
We ordered a Ten Don (tempura and rice) and a stir fry Udon with added chicken.
The tempura order was... read more huge and just fried so it was very hot.
The stir fry udon was very delicious with just enough sauce.
Had a delicious chicken katsu curry here the other day! Got it to go and it was a lot of food and very filling. The breading on the chicken was... read more and paired well with the savory curry.
Great traditional Japanese fare.
I came specifically for oyakodon - the egg was overdone (I assume for western tastes and possibly food service codes) - but the chicken was abundant and... read more perfectly tender while the broth was tasty - overall very good!
I also ordered the mixed tempura - and it was excellent; perfectly prepared batter, prawns, and all the the traditional veggies.
Highly recommend this place to fill your Japanese cravings!
We bought 3 things for 2 people, $50 rounding up, tip not included.
Mopo Tofu
Wagyu Beef Curry
Mixed Tempura
Skip the Mopo Tofu. My mom and I were not fans of... read more it. She described it as, kimchi with tofu. It would have been better if it had meat and a bit more sauce. Which I will add with the leftovers I took him.
The Wagyu Beef Curry was really good. But, there wasn't that much meat or Japanese Curry ingredients. If you're going to skimp on the meat, then give me more potatoes, carrots and onions. I enjoyed it none-the-less.
The rice in both dishes seemed undercooked.
The mixed tempura was really good. The shrimp were really small. But the veggies were really good.
Overall. Good experience. The decor is nice, they play good music, good food choices. Next time, I might stay away from the donburi's and eat more side items. There is a good vibe in there. I would love to study there. Grab a nice sake, maybe some boba or coffee, some good eats and chill.
Great service, good food. Try their Tempura..it was fried just right, had a mixture of vegetables and shrimp, especially enjoyed the asparagus tempura! Our friends had the fried oysters with... read more a delicious dipping sauce! We'll definitely be back here soon!!
So came back AND they were open!!! Finally got the Sukiyaki and it was worth coming back for. Asked if it was sweet because the last time I had... read more sukiyaki from another restaurant it was really too sweet. They cut down the sweetness for me and it was just right.
Their Sukiyaki doesn't come with all the trimmings of a traditional Japanese sukiyaki, just to let you know. However it did satisfy my craving for it.
and now I still need to come back for the other menu items.
I've ordered from here several times to go. My go to is usually the the chicken curry katsu don and it's really good. You get a good amount of curry... read more and chicken. The food is always prepared very quickly and it tastes great.
The staff handling my order is friendly from the time I order to when I'm there to pick it up. I've never ate in the restaurant, but it seems like a cozy place. From what I can tell the place looks relatively clean to me. This place is about a 5 minute drive from my house so if I'm ever craving some chicken and curry this is my go to.
This place is such a yummy place, I mean I been eating there all my lunches. I like the fact that they have different spicy sauces, the let you try... read more before you buy so that's helpful. Take the eel it's so fresh and nice.
